Paul Mataheru was born at Hunut.  Paul's words:

A saying about Kapitan Yongkor:

Anjin hitam masuk di kota,
Kipas ekor, muka ketawa,
Kapitan Yongkor, anak manipa,
Sudah untung benteng di Jawa.

There were three ancestors from the mountains, Mataheru, Noya, and Taihutu.
They founded Haturesirakanyawa Pulau Buang Besi (Hulaliu).  In their search
for a village site, they separated, and Taihutu found Wai-hokal (to land),
Noya found Wai-elang (hilang), and Mataheru found Wai-moria.  The only stream
adequate for a village water supply was Wai-moria, which is the village water
supply to this day.  Wai-hokal is the village canoe-landing area to this day.

The people believe in demons that can harm one's person.  One may fall sick
from a demon picked up at one of the streams. In such a case, one must go to
the appropriate family for medicine (magic).

Fifty some odd years ago, when the "Albatross" came from Saparua to settle a
quarrel between Hulaliu and another village, it ran aground off Tanjong Hokal.
People from several villages in the area were summoned to try to free it by
united effort. But try as they may, they failed, until representatives of the
three families were called.  When representatives of the Mataheru, Noya, and
Taihutu families stepped aboard, the ship immediately tilted, and was free.
Hulaliu is "pela tuni" with Paperu.  There are also pelas with Sila (Nusa
Laut), and Laxumu (Seram).  The kinship terms, "upu" and "tiu" are used.
