The legend of Upu Halawane Latu.

Upu Halawane Latu was a hero of Oma.  He was the first man on Haruku to
receive Christianity.  When the Dutch were carrying out raids against
Hoalmoal, Seram, they were forced to recruit Moluccan warriors (kapitan).
The Dutch were unable to take Hoalmoal alone.  But even with the aid of
the Moluccan kapitans, the Dutch were still unable to conquer Hoalmoal.
They resorted to the use of "mawe-mawe" magic,and decided that they must
have a kapitan of Oma.  So they came to Oma seeking a kapitan.  Halawane
agreed to go.
